Childrens Classes

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY

Beginner's Ballet 11 years and over 4.30 pm;  

Beginners Tap  11 years and over 5.30 pm

 

WEDNESDAYS 

 Creative/contemporary dance  6 -8  years 4.30 - 5.20 pm

A class specifically designed for children who are interested in the expressive aspect of dance. The class incorporates basic dance vocabulary such as jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping, stamping in rhythm, interacting with others and listening and responding to music.  Musicality, improvisation and involvement with choreography are emphasised. This class is an excellent starting point for contemporary dance.

BALLET AND TAP AT DANCE WORKSHOP

Ballet and tap classes run throughout the day on Saturday and on Monday evenings. All classes maintain the highest level of technique and individual attention; from the first classes upwards. We aim to develop fully, each student’s potential both in technique, expression and performance ability. We encourage good etiquette in the classroom while making the children’s time with us fun and stimulating.


 

SATURDAY


INTRODUCTORY BALLET. TAP & THEATRE CRAFT 

9.30 - 10.15 am NEW CLASS for 4 - 5 yrs  (We are currently taking names for this class)

 

BALLET AND TAP CLASSES throughout the day

FROM PREPARATORY GRADE TO INTERMEDIATE between 10.00 - 2.00 pm

 

STREET JAZZ CLASSES 1 hour classes

1.00 pm  Young Street dance class (6 - 8 yrs)

3.00pm  Street Dance 9 - 10 years  Street Dance 11  years and over

I.D.T.A. Examination classes (Bronze, silver, gold, medals gold bar & star awards

These high energy classes focus on musicality, rhythm and performance skills, while developing a good dance technique. Students will take part in warm-ups to develop aerobic capacity, strength and technique before learning routines to the latest funky tunes

CONTEMPORARY DANCE 1 hour class

4.00 pm  Contemporary Dance a 13 years approx and over

These classes are for older girls and boys who wish to develop their training in dance. It is particularly useful for those looking for a career in dance or are currently taking GCSE or A Level dance.
